Sehr geehrte Mitglieder Wenn nicht jetzt, wann dann?Am letzten Freitag haben Sie die offizielle Einladung zur ausserordentlichen Generalversammlung des RREC UK erhalten. Der britische Vorstand musste letztlich die rund 650 eingereichten Unterschriften anerkennen und diese Versammlung widerwillig einberufen. Die kontinentaleuropäischen Sektionspräsidenten (Chairmen) und zahlreiche britische Sektionsvorstände sind sich einig, dass wir jetzt die Möglichkeit haben, das jahrelange Missverhalten des britischen Clubvorstands zu beenden und einen neuen, zukunftsorientierten Weg einzuschlagen. Wir gehen nicht mehr detailliert auf unsere Vorwürfe und die entsprechenden Entgegnungen ein. Für detaillierte Informationen stehen wir Ihnen aber jederzeit zur Verfügung. Im Moment nur soviel: Der "Letter of Intent" – also die Absichtserklärung des abzuwählenden Vorstands – kommt viel zu spät. Genau diese Aufgaben hatten wir schon seit Jahren gefordert und erst jetzt, unter dem Druck der verlangten Generalversammlung, kommt dieses "Versprechen" – Versprechen darum in Anführungszeichen, weil schon so oft versprochen wurde, etwas zu ändern. Nie ist etwas geschehen. Die Denkweise des britischen Vorstands ist falsch! Dieser behauptet, dass lediglich 650 Mitglieder die Petition zur Generalversammlung unterzeichnet haben, dies sei bei insgesamt rund 7000 Mitgliedern eine vernachlässigbare Zahl. Stellen wir die 650 Unterschriften ins Verhältnis zur jährlichen Wahlbeteiligung von durchschnittlich nie über 700 Mitgliedern (seit Jahrzehnten), dann sind die 650 Unterschriften die überwältigende Mehrheit derjenigen Mitglieder, die sich für die Clubführung interessieren. Der britische Vorstand entgegnet auf unsere Vorwürfe stets mit dem Argument, es sei alles ein Missverständnis. Sie haben die Fähigkeit entwickelt, alle Argumente so zu drehen, dass es für sie stimmt und immer sind alle anderen schuld an der unglücklichen Entwicklung. Wie alle anderen Sektionspräsidenten akzeptieren wir, dass sich eine grosse Mehrheit von Ihnen nicht um "politische Belange" in unserem Enthusiastenclub kümmern will. Die Aufgabe eines Vorstandes (nicht nur in Grossbritannien) ist es, den Mitgliedern eine Dienstleistung zu erbringen. Eine Vorstandsposition hat nichts mit "Macht" zu tun sondern beinhaltet vielmehr die Aufgabe, die Geschäfte im Sinne der Mitglieder zu führen und mit der Organisation von Anlässen Freude zu bereiten. Der britische Vorstand verhält sich leider nicht entsprechend. Dazu kommt, dass dieses Gremium in den letzten beiden Jahren mehrmals nachweislich gegen die Articles of Association (Statuten) verstossen hat. Wir akzeptieren dieses Verhalten nicht länger. Die Kontinentaleuropäer haben aus ihren Reihen zwei Kandidaten für den neuen Vorstand angemeldet: Ariel Sergio Goekmen-Davidoff (Schweiz & Deutschland)

Dear members If not now, then when?Last Friday you received the official invitation to the Extraordinary General Meeting of RREC UK. In the end the UK Board had to acknowledge the 650 signatures submitted and reluctantly convene this meeting. The Continental European Section Chairmen and many British Section Committees agree that we now have the opportunity to put an end to years of misconduct by the British Club Board and to embark on a new, forward-looking path. We will no longer go into detail about our accusations and the corresponding replies. However, we are always available for detailed information. At the moment only so much: The "Letter of Intent" - i.e. the declaration of intent of the Board to be voted out - comes much too late. These are exactly the tasks we have been demanding for years and only now, under the pressure of the requested general Meeting, this "promise" comes - promise in quotation marks because so many promises have been made to change something. Nothing has ever happened. The thinking of the British Board is wrong! It claims that only 650 members signed the petition for the General Meeting, which is a negligible number out of a total of about 7000 members. If we put the 650 signatures in relation to the average annual turnout of never more than 700 members (for decades), then the 650 signatures are the overwhelming majority of those members who are interested in club leadership. The British Board always responds to our accusations with the argument that it is all a misunderstanding. They have acquired the ability to twist all the arguments to make it true for them and it is always everyone else's fault for the unfortunate development. Like all other Section Chairmen, we accept that a large majority of you do not want to deal with "political issues" in our club of enthusiasts. The role of a board (not only in the UK) is to provide a service to the members. A board position has nothing to do with "power", but rather the task of conducting business in the interests of the members and providing pleasure by organising events. Unfortunately, the UK Board of Directors does not act accordingly. In addition, this body has demonstrably violated the Articles of Association several times in the last two years. We no longer accept this behaviour. Continental Europeans have registered two candidates from their ranks for the new board: Ariel Sergio Goekmen-Davidoff (Switzerland & Germany)
